The Old Prospectors formed late in 2015 after some chance run-ins and shared connections around Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood. A project that started with some informal jamming provided a doorway into challenging songwriting, a rich and hilarious friendship, deep musical explorations, and an ever-deepening connection with our musical community.
The sounds of the Old Prospectors can be characterized as a blending together of funk, psych, and progressive rock elements engineered to give audiences an ethereal experience. Our soundscapes continue to grow and evolve as we are continually exposed to the massive expanse of great music available all around us. We try to get out to see as many shows as we can and feel honored to be surrounded by a community of such awesome musicians and human beings.
